Soap Molds

Soap Molds

While in candle making molds are sometimes considered to be a decidedly un-chandler like cop out to using hands and knives, soap molds are a tool of the trade that even the purists amongst the soapers cannot complain about. Yet if you take a look at the typical soap mold, you will probably realize that it is not very exciting. Soap making molds are usually rectangular, and while they are wonderful for the manufacture of the average sized bar of soap, they do precious little to add special flairs to the ambience of your home.

Imagine what you could do with Halloween soap molds! Bats and coffins could adorn your sink and the kids who might come over for a party will love to wash their hands with these bars after eating treats, squishing around cold spaghetti, and doing their makeup. Or perhaps a patriotic soap mold will allow you to make the stars and stripes that adorn our flag as you get ready for the Fourth of July party at your home. Imagine what a wonderful party favor a bar of soap coming from a bee soap mold will make for the guests who come to your baby’s first birthday party! Perhaps you had a Winnie the Pooh theme for the party, and everyone knows of Pooh’s love for honey … and honey comes from bees!

Crayon soap molds will inspire your children to wash hands a bit more often, and if you use different fragrances you might even be able to make it a bit of a contest! Have the little one pick the crayon color of her choice and wash hands – you will then guess which color she used. African soap molds will round out the décor of your bathroom and perhaps even bedroom while a coffee soap mold may yield the kinds of soap bars that will go great with your coffee themed gift baskets.

It is interesting to note that silicone soap molds are probably the preferred kind of soap molds currently in use by soapers. The fact that silicone will stick to nothing but itself is a great asset when crafting intricate shapes and patterns that would be ruined if the soap molds would not relinquish the little nooks and crannies of the bars. Imagine the Castile Mountains soap molds that will make the most amazing shapes, soap molds that will allow you make rock formations, the clam shell soap mold that also shows the beard of the mussel, soap molds for those who love the idea of having car part shaped soaps, and then there are the many animal molds. While in the past wooden soap molds were used almost exclusively, today a wood soap mold is more often seen as an anomaly.
